Continuing Education

The University of Arizona college of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center designates this education activity for a maximum of 22.0 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award(15.5 Provider and 6.5 Instructor). Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy is approved by the American Council on Pharmaceuticals Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. Those completing pre-and post -tests, attending all sessions, and completing the evaluation will be awarded credit. The AHLS provider Course is awarded 16.5 contact hours  (1.65 CEU's)  and assigned ACPE universal program 003-999-99-079-L04. the AHLS Instructor Course is awarded 7.5 contact hours (.75 CEU's) and assigned ACPE universal program number 003-999-99-078-L04.

The American College of Emergency Physicians designates this education activity for a maximum of 21 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

This continuing education activity is approved by the Continuing Education Coordination Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) for 16 hours of advanced and 6 hours of educator continuing medical education. CECBEMS is an organization established to develop and implement policies to standardize the review and approval of EMS continuing education activities. The sponsoring organization of CECBEMS are the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians, National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Directors, National Council of State Emergency Medical Services Training Coordinators, and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

The Florida Poison Information Center - Jacksonville is approved by the State of Florida Board of Nursing as a provider of continuing nursing education.  This program has been approved for 13 CEU.
